Auto Repair Rip-offs Exposed

In a clear, straightforward manner, Fariello exposes common rip-offs and provides the average car owner with some "tricks of the trade," including how to negotiate free repairs from auto manufacturers even without the benefit of an in-force warranty.

The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration reports that over US$20 billion in unnecessary or fraudulent auto repair is spent each year by American consumers. 40% of every dollar spent on auto repair nationally is wasted!

This revealing book has been nationally acclaimed and featured on all three major televisions networks as well as CNN, FNN and numerous national radio networks and newspaper like USA Today, The Washington Post, The Detroit Free Press, New York Newsday, The Philadelphia Inquire, Boston Herald and Tampa Tribune, to name just a few.

Author Sal Fariello knows the dirty tricks and price-gouging techniques that many dealership service departments and repair shop use.

He has been a regional service manager for two major manufacturers, the service manager for three major auto dealerships and a large independent repair shop. He has also been assistant service manager, head mechanic and a Class A technician in several other dealerships and has written numerous technical and trade publications in his twenty plus years in the automotive service industry.

As a litigation consultant, Sal works with attorneys on accident, produce liability and breach-of-warranty cases.

He was the sole technical expert in the famous Skelton vs General Motors case, a consumer class action lawsuit which was settled for over 17 million dollars in 1987.
